I have learned a wide range of skills, most notably effective communication. Beyond that, I gained strong teamwork abilities, adaptability, and a deeper intercultural understanding. Working in such a dynamic environment really taught me how to be flexible and open-minded. I will definitely take back my enhanced skills in coordinating and organizing events. I have also become much more confident in giving presentations and easily speaking in front of large crowds. Volunteering has changed many of my personal traits for the better. Interacting and mingling with people from so many different countries and cultural backgrounds has broadened my perspective and greatly developed my personality. My days are always filled with positivity. It’s hard to call it a „routine” because every day brings something good, but the constant factor is the incredibly positive and uplifting work environment. All the activities were highly enjoyable, but my absolute favorites were helping out at the homeless shelter and taking care of the animals at the cat shelter. My tasks mainly involved working and engaging with people of all age groups, specifically helping them practice and improve their English language skills.

Honestly, the challenges I faced were minor, and I was able to overcome them smoothly thanks to the amazing and continuous support from the coordinators. The thing that will remain in my memory for a very long time is the incredible team at this foundation—from my fellow volunteers and the amazing coordinators to our wonderful manager. I highly recommend ESC volunteering to absolutely everyone. It is a truly unforgettable experience that leaves a lasting positive impact not only on the volunteer but also on the local community.
