People behind the mic
The main goal of our podcast is to create a platform on which local and foreign ESC volunteers can express their opinions and beliefs on many different topics. We record two types of episodes a month. The first one includes an important and mainstream topic that is thoroughly discussed and thus gives our listeners a reliable source of information, and the second one is more entertaining as it involves our daily life stories, personal struggles and hilarious moments worth telling. Visit us on anchor :)
Do you wonder who the people behind the microphone are?
- Ula - local volunteer (19, Poland)\
What's up good people? I'm Ula and I have been volunteering in CAT since January 2020. I'm one of the local volunteers whose voices you can hear on our PodCAT episodes and I strongly encourage you to click "play" on Anchor and give it a go!
Now, some crucial info about me in brief. I have never liked the fact that I am 100% Polish and to be honest, I think this was the driving force to my curiosity in other cultures which then turned into a fervour to learn new languages and explore the world outside my home country. Meeting people gives me a boost of positive energy and brings lots of motivation. I am a very caring and open-minded person who loves to put smiles on the faces of others, play tennis and listen to rap music!
If you want to hear something more about me, you know what to do ;)
- Marta - local volunteer and mentor (19, Poland)
Hej, hello, ciao! My biggest passion is learning and getting to know the world, which can be seen by the fact that I like to conduct discussions and write down personal reflections. I am also interested in psychology, healthy eating, literature and the Italian language (which I recently started learning). I am a very extroverted human being, so contact with others always gives me a lot of happiness and motivation. I love talking, expressing my views and sharing my positive energy, which is one of the many opportunities that recording PodCAT episodes has given to me.
- Seb - long term ESC volunteer (23, Spain)
I'm super passionate about everything, but radio holds a special place in my heart!
I studied Audiovisual Communication so I have a bit of knowledge and background working in the field. However, that's not all; sports and nature are also crucial in my life. I try to stay as active as possible going hiking, running, etc. and spending time in nature; the forest, the lakes or simply watching birds (especially ducks!).
I've been a volunteer here in Fundacja CAT since September and I couldn't be happier. We do a lot of activities covering a wide range of topics; from eco-projects to Human Rights, we give our best to help the local community. Being part of a team is one of the best thing of my project and, although the short-terms change every 2 months, we develop deep relations.
Coming back to the topic of the Podcast, I would encourage everyone to listen to it. Why? Well, first you can practise your English in very short doses since the episodes are less than 15 minutes. Furthermore, we have different topics so for sure at least one of them would be of your liking. And finally, this podcast is made by people for people, especially the youth. And who doesn't want to stay updated with the modern views?
