PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project integrates the horizontal priority of sustaining people in the acquisition and improvement of competencies and skills. Also, it includes the priority of promoting cooperation, commitment, quality, innovation, youth's empowerment and youth's recognition.
This project also recognizes that youth supporters and youth workers do not know how to involve young people in a learning process of self-development without using non-formal education methodologies, which can be crucial for learning.
For these reasons, it will make available two resources: the Guidebook and the online MOOC. These tools will introduce new methodologies and support young people involved in young people's education and guidance, among teachers, educators, and youth workers.
Teachers and educators will work in a preventive and systematic way, by supporting pupils to understand what are their likes, what they're good at and follow their passions; so, when they will have to make choices will be easier for them to seek opportunities according to their needs, rather than getting lost in their choices and frustrated afterwards.
So, it's essential for supporting teachers to acquire skills to start guidance programs before 16 years old when self-identity is being defined using the self-discovery and self-design mechanisms.
This will contribute to a higher quality of education, training and personal and professional development and facilitation, supporting networks between different social sectors.
The project includes a specific workshop abroad dedicated to youth workers in Spain.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
To raise the quality of education, the project wants to develop a partnership between learning institutions, making a bridge between Non-Formal Education (NFE) and Formal Education (FE) and policymakers, thanks to the stakeholders involved.
The project will create strategies to support more effective and innovative training and pedagogy learning when the tools will be tested and disseminated locally. That means:
- creating a sustainable practice focused on orientation and didactic method to develop self-awareness and self-entrepreneurship to reduce NEET problems;
- implementing orienting behaviors that support youngsters in their individual growth, especially in what concerns maturity:
- knowing how to listen/ acknowledge and recognize, or raise awareness on the importance of active listening;
- to motivate educational choices to the students to stimulate and encourage the development of decision-making autonomy; placing youngsters in situations of cognitive conflict can develop problem-solving strategies on their own;
- providing theoretical support to teachers to acquire skills to identify resources, needs and difficulties in youngsters;
- providing theoretical support for the planning of strengthening, development, in-depth analysis, recovery and support in the educational field.
EXPECTED RESULTS
The expected results summed up to be achieved by the project will have an impact directly at a personal and professional level of young people (in a preventive approach from early ages), It will also help teachers, educators, career guidance professionals, and youth workers, who will learn new tools of work. This way, we develop a sustainable and cyclical way of work and support young people.
In particular, the direct results consist of improving educators' skills and competences in dealing with the non-formal education of youngsters through the Identification of new methods. In consequence of that, we will be expected that the early school drop-out will be reduced.
Moreover, it will be available a Guidebook with coaching tools to support the personal and professional development of young people, and a MOOC course for youth workers on coaching methods to develop support for young people.
